Behind the wheel.

5 Aug

I’m back behind the wheel after 15 years of taking the metro and riding the skateboard, and, as you know me now, I like to be prepared.
You never know what can happen, so let’s get ready (maybe I’m watching too many bad movies …).

Sometimes during accidents, your belt is stuck and you need to cut it to escape the wreckage. I got your back!

And if you need to break the window and kicking doesn’t cut it, I got it covered too thanks to the StatGear Auto Escape Tool.
For only $9,95 you have the 2 in 1 tool that will cut the belt and break the window. In the rest position, the Escape Tool is securely fastened to the sun breaker ready to be used.

Hydration is key during long summer drive in Florida, it’s great to have an ice tea that stays cold during hours. With the insulated Klean Kanteen (double wall bottle, dish-washer friendly), your beverage will stay cold 24 hours and warm 12 hours.

Also if it’s really hot out there, it’s good to have the hydration tabs to drop in your bottle.
Then you fill it with water (the Nunn tabs are unsweetened, so no sugar kick and down, just the electrolytes straight to your muscles).
Those tabs are made for desk jobs but also to support my sport activities where I’m sweating big time and loosing lots of electrolytes.

And if I’m hungry on the way home, I always have a package of Jerky in my backpack, the Mapple Bourbon Churro from Three Jerks Jerky is my favourite flavour.

I’m always fully charged with my Aluminium Dual Car charger (from Rokform).
It’s a great combo with the Rokform suction mount for iPhone (for once, a stand that’s not falling off the windshield … priceless).
I love the 2m~6feet charging cable by Apple to charge the phone while using Waze to find my way.
The 2nd slot is used for charging my external batteries.

In the trunk, I use the Gear Tie  Loopable Twist (from Niteize) to secure my skateboard and stuff that could be moving in the trunk.

Safe travels!

Back to school, on the smart side

1 Sep

Vacations are over, we had fun on the beach, BBQ everyday, made new friends, discovered new places… Basically we enjoyed our time off before the rat race starts again.
As we didn’t win the Powerball, we have to go back to the office and we better be ready.
Here’s what I always have with me to face the worst.

IMG_6909.JPG
. Extra battery for my iPhone, iPad and computer, the Sherpa 50 by GoalZero (powered by a solar panel!!)
. Jump Cable by Native Union, giving you a 30% boost and serving a a charging cable too
. Klean Kanteen bottle, to cut on using plastic
. Nunn tabs to stay hydrated during the work day
. Luminox watch, the brand of the Navy Seals (I switched to the textile bracelet to have it a bit funkier)
. A Bluetooth earpiece, the New Era by Jawbone (4 hours autonomy, super light)
. Tile, a bluetooth tag that helps me not to forget my stuff behind (in this case my wallet)
. Shine by Misfit to track my daily and night activity
. And my beloved Biscuit skate by Hamboards to land-surf to the office and back home (still practicing).
Have fun, work well and the next vacations are around the corner!

Innovative products soon in my pocket

10 Mar

20140307-082634.jpgNiteize is a great brand for indoor daily uses and outdoor activities.
I use everyday their biners, gearties and flashlight and … I’m not a hunter.
It’s an innovative brand which keeps developing new products, so I have to keep it up and test their new products.

And talking about new products, 4 raised my interest during my lunch break: the Screenskate to wipe clean my iPhone screen, the Doohickey key tool to basically do everything I can’t do with my fingers and nails, the Inova Squeeze light to have a tiny light always with you and the Geartie mount perfect to tie and not loose my earphones.

They are ordered and I will start testing them very soon now. Stay tuned …

Hang in there!

Being a techie, or always looking for a smart product doesn’t free you from your daily chores at home … one of them is the washing. I already got the two in one sink/washer from Smeg and I need a smart way to dry it.

I started looking for a wash dryer system to hang my laundry home image(I don’t have a garden, only concrete …).
I bought a regular dry system (even if you fold it it takes room and is not that handy to handle, and it looks ugly), but as you know regular is not enought for me and I kept looking for the perfect system.
I narrowed down the contestants to gearlines (the ones used when camping).
I bought it and brought it home to start testing it. And I must admit that it is really useful even if you don’t live in a tent!
My choice went to the brand Niteize, the line comes with 2 gear ties and 10 different sizes S-Biners (the competitors just give you the line and you need to find a way to attach it.
My line is 4 feet long, but also exists in 2 feet length.
I use it horizontally for the wash to dry and vertically to listen music in the bathroom and hang my speakers and iPhone.
Cheap and polyvalent, it’s how I like it.image
