Do 2 things simultaneously!

Pocket size extra batt & cable

Pocket size extra batt & cable

Remember when your teacher told you to focus and do only one thing at a time?
The guys from Native Union didn’t listen and developed a really smart gadget called the JUMP cable.
The JUMP cable is a 2 in 1 device:
1. It’s a USB charging cable for your iPhone
2. It’s an extra battery for your iPhone that will charge itself while using the cable to charge your phone. When off the plug, it will give you an extra 30% boost.

The 3 little lights on the USB face will blink while charging. When the 3 lights are steady, the extra boost will be ready to deliver the 30% extra boost (one light means 33% batt charged, 2 lights 66%). Full charging time for the extra batt is about 1,5 hours.

The best of it is that it’s very compact (5x5cm) and lightweight (40gr) enough to fit in your coin pocket!

When done charging, just put the cords and plugs back in their spot and tuck it in your pocket.

Jump cable by Native UnionThe price is not that lightweight though with a $49,99 tag.

But I f you do the math, one iPhone cable $19 + one extra battery (small boost) $29,99 it’s an OK price. Worth trying!

PS: I would have like the possibility to hook it as a keyring, but that’s ok.
And a little notch to pull the plugs easily.

How to optimize your iPhone settings to spare your battery ?

10 Mar

Who doesn’t need battery when you own an iPhone? I spend lots of time on my phone and I can’t go through the day without looking desperately for a plug at least once or twice a day …

The easiest thing to do is to optimise the settings of your iphone
1/ Close the non-necessary apps (running in the background and wasting power). I didn’t know there were using power, I only thought they were taking space in the cache.

  • Double tap the home button the bottom bar appears with all the working in the background apps
  • Touch one of the apps and waiting for it to move and have
  • Tap the “one way” panel, and it will shut down the app

2/ Turn off wifi and Bluetooth options

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Turn off Bluetooth and wifi options

3/ Turn on the auto brightness

  • Go to “Settings”
  • And set the toggle to “On”

4/ Turn off notifications

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Tap “Notifications”
  • And select the apps that can send you the notifications

5/ Turn off vibration, led and flash

2013-02-12 20.57.53
  • To turn off the vibration
  • Go to “Settings”, “Sounds” and turn off “Vibrate on Ring” and “Vibrate on Silent”
  • To turn off the led
  • Go to “Settings”, “General”, “Accessibility” then turn off the toggle to off for “Led Flash for Alert”

6/ Turn off the location services

  • Go to “Settings”, “Privacy”, and turn it off

If you still can’t go through the day and you don’t find plugs, I still have a trick (external batteries: Mophie, Just Mobile or … way cooler the Goal Zero!)

How to check on your Fuelband battery status

2 Sep

Easy to do in 3 steps
1. Launch the app on your iPhone
2. Push the button to start a synch between the band and the iPhone
3. Go to “Me” then “Device settings
A screen with the settings of your band will appear with the status of your battery.
Now you can monitor when you need to charge your band.
And remember your don’t leave your band charge all day long, 30 minutes should be enought (that’s what they told me at Nike Town).
